Welcome to The Clarity Kit

Your Training & Checklist is waiting below!

Three short videos on the three tools that lifted my own paintings faster than anything else. Variety, value, and color. Watch them in order, and start seeing your work more clearly today.

Variety is what keeps a painting alive and interesting. It is the contrast and the difference that make the eye want to keep moving across the canvas. In this first video I show you how to build it on purpose, so your paintings stop feeling flat or repetitive.

Value is the one that surprises most artists. It is quietly doing the heavy lifting in every painting that feels strong, and it is usually the reason a painting falls apart without you knowing why. Here is how to see it and use it on purpose.

Seeing value clearly is one piece of a much bigger skill. Learning to use all of it together, on your own paintings, is the work we do inside Living Abstracts.

Color is where so many of us overwork, adding and adjusting until the life drains out. In this last video I show you how color works together with variety and value, so your choices feel deliberate instead of accidental. By the end you will have all three tools in your hands.

There's a moment every painting reaches where it needs something… and you don't know what. You keep adjusting, adding, trying to fix it, and the part you loved slips away. That moment is where I work. Inside Living Abstracts I teach the full language of art, and how to actually use it on your own paintings, with personal feedback in a small group of five artists. Not three tools… the whole picture. If you're ready to stop guessing and start finishing paintings you're proud of, I'd love to see your application.

Cathy Mevik

Hi, I’m Cathy Mevik

I'm a passionate abstract artist and mentor, and I know firsthand how hard it can be to move through paintings and actually finish them.

For years, I felt stuck, unsure of what to do next, or I'd keep pushing until the painting lost everything that made it feel alive. Not because I lacked talent. Because I lacked clarity.

It wasn't until I learned to pair my intuition with a real understanding of what I was seeing on the canvas that everything came full circle. I stopped guessing. I started choosing.

That's why I created The Clarity Checklist — I genuinely want to help you see your work more clearly, so you can trust your decisions and stop second-guessing what your painting needs.

If you've ever stood in front of a canvas wondering whether to keep going or call it done, this is for you.

Helping artists find clarity without years of searching alone is exactly why I do this work.
